Recent events we have staffed include:

The Much Music Video Awards (MMVA's)
June 9, 2008 - Much Music, Toronto

In 2008, Nasco was the exclusive labour supplier to the 2008 Much Music Video Awards.  There were 110 crew members on-site working the six separate events that culminated the show call.

More than 400 moving lights were used and it took 300 tons of steel and four tons of sound equipment to create the desired effects on Much Music's two stages.  Following the show, Nasco received rave reviews from both CTV and Much Music and said they would continue to use its services for all future shows.

Vancouver 24 Hours

2005 - 2008, Vancouver

For three years, Nasco has been the exclusive provider of distribution staff throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for "Vancouver 24 Hours" free daily newspaper.

Nasco's staff, who are located at all major commuter locations, help promote the publication by increasing awareness and readership.  The newspaper is distributed to passersby Monday through Friday working one, two or all three daily shifts that occur at busy transit times.

According to a 2007 NADbank newspaper measurement study, "Vancouver 24 Hours" daily readership is now 233,500, which is ahead of "Metro," its number one competitor, by more than 89,000.  In fact, "Vancouver 24 Hours" has grown more than any other daily newspaper according to NADbank.

Needless to say, these are astonishing results for a print media product barely three years old in such a competitive marketplace.  With such a strong street presence, "Vancouver 24 Hours" aims to maintain its position, much due to the help of Nasco's enthusiastic staff.

Andre Rieu
December 14 - 15, 2007 - The Rogers Centre, Toronto

This production, described by the Toronto Star as the "biggest show on Earth," was staffed by more than 250 crew for 14 days, 24 hours a day split into two 12-hour shifts per day.  Nasco executed all of the production for Adnre Rieu's very first, full-stadium show which ran December 14-15 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

This show, with the full opulence of a romantic Viennese night caught the attention of the "Guinness Book of World Records" and was recognized as the biggest set ever built in the world as well as the largest logistical operation ever undertaken.

Complete with a Castle of Schonbrunn, two ice rinks, two fountains, Viennese ballet dancers and ice skaters, Nasco staffed close to 600 positions over 14 days in rigging and lighting alone.  Between pre-rig, load-in and load-out of this production, Nasco provided 13 head rigger positions, 62 ground riggers, 39 winch operators, 312 steel climbers and 45 lighting technicians.  Nasco's experience with this event alone made it the largest, most qualified rigging and specialty lighting resources in the country.

The Rolling Stones "A Bigger Bang World Tour"
November 2006 - BC Place, Vancouver

In November of 2006, Nasco provided production and front-of-house staffing for The Rolling Stones concert at BC Place Stadium.  Nasco supplied approximately 200 staff everyday between setup, rehearsal, show-call and tear-down.

This show even broke the record for having the largest amount of production staffing ever in Vancouver.  And Nasco, once again, received high praise from both the tour staff and BC Place management for having unbelievable on-site staffing.

BC Place's Senior Event Manager, Deborah Dutton, even remarked that "we could not have done this event without Nasco and its fantastic team of crew and
management that was on-site throughout the entire event.
Thank you, Nasco."

Blue Man Group

April 2005 - January 2007 - Panasonic Theatre, Toronto

Blue Man Group and Clear Channel Entertainment entered into a long term agreement with Nasco in 2005 making them their exclusive staffing supplier for both production and front-of-house.  This agreement included all rigging services, automated fly system services, specialty lighting technicians, audio, video, lighting, set/carpentry stagehands, properties and wardrobe services.  These positions were required for the build, rehearsal, show run and strike which ran from April 2005 through to January 2007.

This highly unique and interactive show, with its well-known enigmatic bald and blue characters, has met with great success in Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, New York and Berlin.
