Frequently Asked Questions
What is the daily total hour minimum for employees?
Nasco has a policy of a four hour minimum shift. We assume that staff have given up other work in order to take work with us, and therefore pay them for a minimum of four hours.
How many temporary employees do you have?
Nasco employs over 2,500 people in Canada.
How do you ensure full staffing (back-ups, etc.)?
Depending on the event type and size, we schedule a percentage of back up staff based on the total number of staff scheduled each day. Should these back up staff not be required, Nasco will cover the cost of their four hour minimum pay. Should any back up staff be required to fill vacant positions during your event, you will be charged for the hours they work.
What happens if as an employer I want to move employees from one position to another while onsite? How does this affect scheduling and my bill?
We try to make our services as flexible as possible. In many cases, staff can be moved from one role to another mid-shift, but this depends on the work they are doing. In all cases, we want to make sure staff are compensated properly for each type of work they do, and that they possess all the necessary safety gear required to do the job safely.
Do you share staff with other agencies?
Nasco utilizes its own resources first. However, on occasion, we partner with other staffing agencies to fulfill a clients request. We inform the client of this prior to the staff being place on site. Typically, we only sub-contract in cities other than the 8 we service in Canada. This enables us to provide a consistent level of service to clients who require staff in multiple locations.
Are your employees bonded?
Nasco employees are covered by our comprehensive general liability insurance for up to $5,000,000 per occurrence.
